If you purchased an AT&T phone on ebay or elsewhere with the intention on unlocking it. And you want to use it on another network, and you are not an AT&T customer, you can still get the phone unlocked free without paying thru a service. AT&T allows non-AT&T Mobility Customers to unlock their phone free. Just go to their website, select Non-AT&T Mobility customer and enter in all your info. Link at very bottom. Your phone however, must be clean and not blacklisted in order for this to work. You will receive an email confirmation and need to fax or email them a copy of the purchase receipt, whether it is an ebay payment confirmation from a seller, actual AT&T receipt, or other. Should take up to 2 days for processing and you can check the status from the link in the email they send you. Don't use a service, as I tried to do from an ebay seller. I had to give them my phone's IMEI and I found that they blacklisted my phone and caused my IMEI to go bad. Luckily I caught it immediately and reported them to ebay fraud. They immediately corrected the problem when I complained to them about blacklisting my device. So beware if you decide to go this route. BTW, their ad claimed to be USA, but had both a UK and USA number. Also found out they were located in Bulgaria, and not the USA as indicated. AT&T unlock request website: www.att.com/deviceunlock/#/
